President Michel sends condolence message to the Hogan family

President James Michel has sent a message of condolence to the Hogan family in Ireland, following the passing away of Liam Hogan, the deputy Chief Officer of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), today.
“It is with deep regret and profound sadness that I have learnt of the untimely death of your husband, Liam. It is a tragedy that robs you of your beloved husband and a devoted father to your children. It also affects us deeply,” said the President in a letter to his widow, Mrs Breda O’Reilly Hogan.
“Liam was a highly valued and experienced member of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Seychelles. He was held in deep esteem by his peers and subordinates alike, and was immensely respected for his integrity and professional qualities. His devotion to duty and commitment to his job was a source of inspiration to all his colleagues”.
The President added that even though words alone will not ease the pain and sorrow of the Hogan family, the government of Seychelles mourns the passing away of Mr. Hogan.
Mr. Michel ended his message by saying “we shall honour Liam’s memory and achievements, remembering him with affection and deep respect”.
Liam Hogan, an Irish national, started to work for the FIU in January 2009.
He leaves behind his wife and two children.
