VICTORIA (AFP) - The Indian Ocean archipelago of Seychelles said Friday it intends to make a bid to secure a UN Security Council seat in five years' time, according to a statement from the president's office.
"I strongly believe that the time has come for Seychelles to present its candidature for the United Nations Security Council for the term 2017-2018, subject to the approval of the African Union," President James Michel told an ambassadors' retreat. ...more
