President meets with Miss Seychelles 2016 and the runner up Princesses

President James Michel met the recently crowned Miss Seychelles 2016, Ms. Christinne Barbier this morning at State House. The first and second princesses, Ms. Lianne Barbé and Ms. Samiya Albert, accompanied the Seychelles beauty queen to the meeting with the President.
The President expressed his congratulations to all three ladies and expressed words of support for Ms. Barbier who will be representing Seychelles at the upcoming Miss World Beauty Pageant, to be hosted by the USA in the city of Washington later this year.
During the meeting, the pageant winners shared their career plans and the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ community projects with the President.
“Congratulations on your success! Be the best at everything you do, make your country extremely proud. Your community projects are exemplary and will inspire many other young people to follow in your footsteps. All three of you have shown that beauty is best expressed in the service of others, through a beautiful and kind spirit,” said President Michel.
Miss Seychelles, Christinne Barbier expressed her thanks to President Michel for his support to establish a project in Seychelles, called ‘Children's Home - Comfort, Care, Continuity,’ to build a hostel or apartment for young adults who were brought up in a children's home and who have a hard time finding a home upon reaching age 18.
Also present at the meeting were the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Alain St Ange and the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Ms Sherin Naiken.
