President Michel sends message of condolence to Thailand following passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej

Following the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, President James Alix Michel has sent a letter of condolence to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr Prayut Chan o Cha expressing the sympathies of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles.

In his message, President Michel described the King Bhumibol as an influential and revered figure that commanded the respect of the Thai people as well as the world.

“His Majesty was highly regarded as a unifying father figure and towering presence. The King was prominently engaged in championing democracy over the country the governed with justice, pride and devotion to his people and remained unhinged- being loyal and benevolent in his humble ways to the very end,” said President Michel.
